Government officials announced Thursday that Hungary will extend its anti-migration campaign in the Balkans. Migrants will be informed about via law changes and problems via TV sports and posters.
Budapest Opens the Third Transit Zone
Municipality of Budapest opened Friday morning the third transit zone of the city at the Nyugati Train Station. Migrants are welcomed to use freely bathroom facilities as well as drinking-fountains to get enough drink during the extreme heat wave in Hungary.
Germany has already launched as a similar campaign to reduce the migration flows. From countries like Greece, Macedonia and Serbia, more than 120000 have entered Hungary this year, so the government believes it's a logical step to “protect Hungary and the EU”.
“Illegal migrants will be informed that the assessment of asylum applications has changed significantly in Hungary as of 1 August,” said Janos Lazar, Minister heading the Prime Minister’s Office, adding that posters will also talk about how the temporary security border fence makes migration more difficult. To be precise, cutting through the wires would soon to be considered a crime.
Mr Lazar stated that all actions are made to “convince migrants that it is not worth entering Hungary” and to break up the Balkan routes of organized human trafficking that leads through Hungary to the EU.
