Ali Akbar Salehi, Vice-President of the Islamic Republic of Iran visited Hungary where he has agreed on continuing the further development of nuclear cooperation between the two countries.
Ali Akbar Salehi hold talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjárto to discuss nuclear cooperation. Iran will assist the EU with nuclear education and training in Iran, and will develop research and scientific cooperation in nuclear energy. Hungary and Iran will continue discussions how Hungarian firms could participate in the exploitation of Iran’s hydrocarbon reserves.
Mr Szijjarto mentioned that roughly 1,100 Iranian students are studying at Hungarian universities, and Hungary would be happy to welcome as many Iranian students as possible.
Mr Salehi added that the development of Hungarian-Iranian relations is a priority in relation to the Iranian nuclear program.
