State secretary Pál Völner announced that the government is determined to go on with the trial against the mandatory quota.
Hungary is committed to proceed with the lawsuit it started against the mandatory refugee quotas at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg and is fully determined because of the terror threat, state secretary of the Hungarian Justice Ministry, Pál Völner said on Friday. Last December Hungary along with Slovakia has filed a court challenge against an EU's plan to distribute refugees among its member states.
Under the quota system, Hungary is expected to take a few hundred refugees. Völner stressed that it is clear that the quota plan wouldn't work in practice. Thursday midnight was the deadline, until which member states and the European Commission could intervene in the trial.
