Hungary reacted to the Greek Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Ksidakis's interview statement with expressing its view on Greek migration policy.
According to the statement of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, “Hungary expects Greece to conform to Schengen regulations and protect the external borders of the Schengen Area, because this is not an optional exercise but a jointly adopted European regulation”.
Nikos Ksidakis had given an interview to the Hungarian daily Népszabadság saying “Greece is saddened and disappointed by the accusations against Athens made by the Hungarian Government concerning the refugee crisis” because Hungary “doesn’t have a refugee problem”.
As Hungary's reaction, the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade stated that Greece leaved Europe “unprotected” by not conforming to international regulations. Plus, the statement says, if Greece is incapable of protecting Europe’s external borders then it should accept international assistance.
