Hungary tries to reinforce the Hungarian-Syrian relations with offering scholarships to Syrian students. The delegation of Damascus University arrived Budapest to discuss the details.
Deputy State Secretary for EU and International Affairs at the Ministry of Human Capacities Gergely Prohle announced that Hungary would like support the Syrian reconstruction. “It's Hungary's interest to contribute to the education of talented young Syrians who, upon completion of their studies can contribute to the reconstruction of Syria”, he said adding that the Hungarian-Syrian higher education ties have a long history.
The delegation of Damascus University expressed how the Syrian students are interested in Hungarian scholarships as the Hungarian universities have “a good reputation” over there.
