20,000 volunteer reservists are needed to complement the Hungarian Defense Forces, announced Minister of Defense Istvan Simicsko Thursday.
Hungary doesn’t planning reinstate conscription, and also noted that a system of incentives has largely been created to make the training of volunteer reservists attractive, but the Hungarian Defense Forces is still in need of 20,000 volunteers.
The manpower of the Hungarian Defense Forces is currently around 30,000 with some 5500 volunteer reservists. According to Mr Simicsko, there is a strong need for some 20,000 reservists with “real capabilities”.
