The migrants Sweden wants to get rid of can't be sent back to Hungary, because this is not the country where they entered the EU for the first time.
The Hungarian government and the Hungarian people can't be pressurized, at the quotareferendum in October Hungarians will tell what they think about illegal immigrations and mandatory resettlement, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó said on Friday. Mr Szijjarto reacted to the meeting of the Northern immigration ministers, where Sweden's Morgan Johansson wanted to convince his colleagues to pressurize Hungary. According to Mr Johansson there are currently a thousand Syrians and Afghans in Sweden who were first registered in Hungary, so according to the Dublin Treaty Hungary should take care of their asylum requests.
Mr Szijjarto said that the Swedish minister finally realized that his country made a great mistake by attracting migrants to Europe and now wants Hungary to suffer of its consequences. According the Hungarian minister the rules are very clear, the migrants should be sent back to the country where they first entered the EU and it's clearly not Hungary in their case. ”Sweden is promoting liberal immigration policies but when the migrants are there, they want to tell them to go away. This stupid and irresponsible attitude has pushed Europe into the chaos where it is now”, he explained.
