The Hungarian U18 national team took the gold medal in Asiago and earned promotion to the IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship Division I Group A for next year.
With only one game left on Sunday against last year's runner-up Slovenia, the Hungarian side finished the tournament undefeated. The national side beat South Korea (6-2), Ukraine (6-2), the home team, Italy (7-1) and last year's bronze medallist Japan (4-2).
