Initiative to make Good Friday a public holiday is likely to succeed this year.
"Thanks to the performance of the economy it is possible to make Good Friday a public holiday", the Minister of Human Resources, Zoltan Balog said at an event. He reminded that there was a similar initiative four years ago already, and now the circumstances make it possible. The parliament will discuss the initiative of an MP to make April 14 a public holiday. Mr Balog, Minister of National Economy Mihaly Varga and Deputy PM Zsolt Semjen have already voiced their support.
