The General Assembly of Budapest officially rejected the EU proposed compulsory quota system, backing the Hungarian government’s previously announced stand in the question.
Mayor Istvan Tarlos announced 12 March that the General Assembly would join the government’s opinion at the next session. The Assembly accepted a resolution Wednesday that it was against the EU proposed compulsory quota system as it contradicts with interests of Budapest and Hungary.
The proposal was accepted with 21 votes in favour and five against it.
