Hungarian frozen-pastry franchise Fornetti will expand in Germany launching its first shipment within weeks.

Fornetti CEO Sebatian Gooding announced on Wednesday that the first Fornetti products will be released in Germany in three weeks. The German expansion will increase revenues by ten percent, the company said.
Fornetti was founded in 1997 by master baker József Palásti as a family business. Over the years, it increased its market share and became one of the largest franchise network in Hungary. Its network has 5000 shops in 12 countries, including Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria. Fornetti employs 970 people in Hungary and a further 500 abroad. It had revenue of nearly HUF 20 billion in 2014 and sold 32,000 tons of bakery products.
The Kecskemet-based company was acquired by Europe’s leading bakery goods maker, Swiss Aryzta AG last year, which aimed to strengthen its presence in Central and Eastern Europe with the transaction.
