Ruling Fidesz has retained its firm lead while radical nationalist Jobbik has the second largest voter support, pollster Medián said.
Fidesz had the support of 53% of decided voters as against Jobbik on 19% and the Socialist Party with 15%,according to the poll conducted between Jan. 22 and 27. The ruling party had 29% of all voters behind it, unchanged from the previous poll, while the radical nationalist party 14% support, up one percentage point. Support for teh Socialists increased from 7% to 9%
As for the smaller parties, the leftist Democratic Coalition is preferred by 4% of all voters (down 2 points), green LMP by 3% (up 1 point), and Együtt 2% (up 1 point).
In a contrast to the party standing, some 54% of voters said things are going in the wrong way, while only 39% voiced the opposite view. Eighty-six percent of voters supporting the ruling parties were optimistic, while 87% of the opposition parties’ supporters and two-thirds of undecided respondents were on the pessimist side.
