The Hungarian government expresses its support for Serbia's EU integration at the government summit in Nis.
Hungary's number one partner in the Western Balkans is Serbia, the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Peter Szijjarto told a press conference before the joint session of the Hungarian and the Serbian government in Nis, Serbia. He emphasised that with the summit the governments want to draw attention to several things First of all, he said, the trade, economic, cultural and especially political relations between the two countries have never been so great as they are now. Second, Hungary wants to make clear its support for the enlargement of the European Union in the Western Balkans. Mr Szijjarto also reminded that Serbia has done a lot more for the Hungarian ethnic minority than some other neighbouring countries.
