Hungary agrees with the general goals of the tax evasion plan discussed at Ecofin.
The Economic and Financial Affairs Council (Ecofin) held a discussion on a package of proposals aimed at strengthening EU rules to prevent corporate tax avoidance on Friday in Brussels. Hungarian Minister Mihaly Varga told the Hungarian news agency that Hungary agrees with the general goals of the plan but thinks that more caution is needed regarding the details. According to the Hungarian government it's important to maintain the healthy, European tax competition but bilateral tax agreements of countries should be taken into account, Varga said. He emphasised that possible effects should be further analysed.
