The Slovakian contingent of police officers went home Monday, ending V4 joint operation on the Hungarian borders.
Commander Janos Balogh thanked the 50 Slovakian police officers their perfect and devoted job during the last few weeks. They arrived to Hungary in November and worked in patrol cars or on foot to discover illegal migrants. Commander Balogh added that previously ten thousands of people arrived to Hungary illegally, but thanks to the V4 joint border control, the number dropped off to only a few per day.
Hungary said goodbye to other members of the cooperation earlier in December. Chezh and Polish officers went home in the beginning of the month.
