Group leaders of Fidesz and KDNP discussed demographic problems at their meeting in Velence.
Ruling coalition Fidesz-KDNP reviewed demographic trends at a key meeting in Velence and asked the government to create further opportunities for women to find non-traditional forms of employment, such as home office, part-time work or temporary agency work, Fidesz’s outgoing group leader said according to MTI.
Supporting women to be able to better adjust work and family duties is a good cause and non-traditional forms of employment are most appropriate for this, Lajos Kósa said. Employers should be given incentives to employ more people this way, he added. He also referred to the government’s work protection action plan, stating that certain elements of the employer support system could be also used in home office and part-time employment, the Hungarian news agency reported.
The group leader of the Christian Democrats said the main aim was to harmonies family and work. Péter Harrach reiterated that Hungary does not consider migration the right solution to labour or demographics problems.
