According to Bundestag member Erika Steinbach, the EU should thank Hungary for protecting the EU's external borders.
Steinbach has recently left CDU over disagreement with German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s migrant policies after 43 years in service. “Of the hundreds of thousands of migrants few were genuine refugees”, she said adding that left-wing German press criticizes Hungary due to its conservative government and German politicians usually believe them without any double-checking.
