Minister for National Economy Mihaly Varga met with EBRD Risk Management Vice President Betsy Nelson in Budapest. They talked about EBRD’s country strategy on Hungary and a possible bigger involvement in the country's economic growth.
Mr Varga hoped for a larger role in boosting economic growth. He also noted that Hungary has been committed to complying with the MoU concluded with the EBRD in February. “It may open a new chapter in the history of financial relations”, he said.
Betsy Nelson described and discussed with the minister the EBRD’s country strategy on Hungary as, Mr Varga stressed, the institution “may play a major role in the financing of the economy”.
