Government officials of Hungary and Albania agreed on launching direct flights.
Hungarian Minister of National Development Miklós Seszták and Albanian Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Sokol Dervishaj signed a declaration of intent on the launch of direct flights between the two countries on Monday. Between Budapest and Tirana there have been no direct flights since 2012, when the now defunct Hungarian national airline company Malév was grounded. The concession contract is being drawn up, flights could start within 180 days of signing the contract, Mr Seszták said. The only party to apply for a concession to operate the flights was Hungarian low-fare airline Wizz Air.
