Transporters are collecting signatures to protect the rights of Eastern European companies.
The Hungarian Federation of National Private Transporters (NiT Hungary) is collecting signatures among international transport companies against the practice of Western European countries to introduce market protecting measures, hidden in social packages, the secretary in general of the organisation, Gábor Dittel told a press conference on Wednesday.
According to Mr. Dittel several countries – like Germany, France, The Netherlands, Austria and Norway – want to push out the Eastern European transport companies by making them pay the Western minimal wage and introducing extra administration for them, and this violates the EU right of establishment and freedom to provide services. The signatures will be sent to European policy makers, Mr. Dittel said, adding that Hungarian policy makers support their initiative.
