Hungary is interested in signing of the free trade agreement between the European Union and Canada, announced Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto in Canada.
Mr. Szijjarto emphasized that Canada and Hungary views each other as key allies, particularly within the fields of military/defense and economic/trade cooperation. “It would be in the clear interests of Hungary, the Hungarian economy and Hungarian enterprises for the free trade agreement between the European Union and Canada to be signed as soon as possible in view of the fact that because of the free trade agreement between the countries of North America, European enterprises including Hungarian enterprises are currently at a competitive disadvantage on the Canadian market compared to American and Mexican companies”, he stressed.
