A blast rocked the Hungarian capital, Budapest late on Saturday, injuring two police officers. According to officials, the explosion targeted police members.

The blast was next to an unused store front on a one of the busiest thoroughfares in central Budapest. The doorway was ruined, nearby windows and cars were damaged in the blast.

Police cordoned off a wide area around the scene and told residents to leave buildings nearest the blast.

According to police presser on Sunday evening, the bomb was home-made and targeted police members, not specifically the two whom injured, but any (or all) police members. “They wanted to be executed”, said Chief Police Officer Karoly Papp.
