New Hungarian border hunters will start work at the Southern border in May.
The first part of the border hunter training has begun in Hungary with 570 applicants. The police has been advertising for 3,000 border hunters to reinforce the police and soldiers patrolling the Southern border. The new recruits can carry pistols with live ammunition, have pepper sprays, batons and handcuffs as well. The new guards will start work in May, before that they have to finish a six months' training. So far more than 2100 people have applied, the average age is 28 years.
