According to authorities, there's a big interest in joining the border control forces in Hungary. Since 1 September 2016, more than 2000 people requested and received information on applying from the National Police Headquarters’ National Recruitment Center.
Regional recruitment authorities have already received potential applicants at events held in several counties, including seven Hungarian counties. Recruitment groups from various county police headquarters will also be at work at several points around the country during the upcoming weeks
Any Hungarian people over the age of 18 with no criminal record, a permanent address in Hungary and at least a high school certificate can apply to become a border hunter. After applying, prospective officers will undergo a medical and psychological examination.
Successful applicants will take part in a six-month special modular training program, the first two months of which will involve training in basic law enforcement duties followed by a four month module on guard and co-patrol duties. Following the successful completion of the second module, applicants will take a complex professional exam and receive their partial qualification in guard and guard and co-patrol duties.
