Audi to Move Production of Q3 to Hungary

The compact SUV will be the fifth modell manufactured at Győr

German car maker Audi is planning to relocate production of its Q3 model to its Hungarian plant in Győr, from Martorell, Spain, the company announced.  The compact SUV will be the fifth modell manufactured in Győr. 

The company said the relocation was due to changes in its global production network. Audi did not reveal the exact time for the launch of production.

Audi Hungaria Motor managing director Peter Kössler said the decision was the latest confirmation of Audi Hungariaʼs competence and efficiency as well as Hungaryʼs competitiveness as a production base, MTI said.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said Audi's decision confirms that the economic and investmetn climate of Hungary and the quality of its labour force remains a significant attraction  for the world's largest companies.  The German manufacturer turns out TT Coupe models, TT Roadsters, Audi A3 Limousines and Audi A3 Cabriolets in Győr, the news agency noted.
 
Audi, which is one of Hungary's largest exporter, turned out a record 2 million engines and over 160,000 cars, the statement said.
