On Monday morning, taxi drivers blocked a main road in Budapest city centre in protest of the ride-sharing service Uber. Budapest mayor István Tarlós, after meeting with delegates, ensured taxi drivers that they have the municipality’s support.
“Tax-paying Hungarian taxi drivers who follow the rules”could continue to count on the capitalʼs support in the Uber matter. “Uber drivers do not comply with the capitalʼs tax decree,” the statement cited István Tarlós.
