Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban talked about Austria's recent decision regarding migration and the public debt.
Austria's decision to put a limit to the number of people allowed to claim asylum this year is a ”victory for common sense”, said Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. He told public radio MR1 in an interview on Friday morning that ”dogmatic thinking capitulated to reality and common sense”. ”Europe cannot accept a gigantic mass of foreign people without restrictions and control”, he emphasized.
Mr Orbán once again stood beside Poland, saying the Polish government has not done anything that should be criticized by the European Union. ”Brussels is irritated by strong nation state”, he added.
Regarding Hungarian economy Mr Orban said that his government is already focusing on the 2017 budget, one of the priorities of which is public debt. According to the Prime Minister it is not enough to lower the debt-to-GDP ratio, but debt should be reduced also in Forint terms. ”A desired state is if we have 100 Forints of debt today it should be 98 tomorrow”, he added. Mr Orban also said a great deal of rising economic opportunities in the following years will be used by the government to fortify Hungarian families and make sure they have a home.
