The European Parliament's legal affairs committee has established no conflict of interest in connection with the Hungarian commissioner-designate, Oliver Varhelyi.
Varhelyi - who has been nominated by Ursula von der Leyen for the enlargement portfolio - was unanimously supported by the committee.
The candidate will be interviewed by the foreign affairs committee on Thursday morning.
