Due to “technical reasons”, Hungary suspended yesterday evening one of the European Union asylum rules, the so-called Dublin III, to unable Western European countries to send back migrants. Brussels called for clarification.
Brussels asked immediately explanation on Hungary's cited “technical reasons”. However, a European Commission spokeswoman said in a statement that “the Dublin rules do not foresee the suspension of transfers by the receiving member states”.
Hungary's well-known geopolitics and security expert, Gorgy Nogradi shares the spokeswoman's view. As he explained Wednesday morning that the Dublin rules are “out-of-date” as they were initiated years ago when no one thought such amount of migrant could arrive into Europe.
According to Peter Szijjarto, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Hungary is working on the solution of its “technical problems”, so he asked for patience regarding possible send-backs of refugees. He also added that the majority of the given migrants stepped on the EU soil in Greece, so in Hungary's opinion they should be transported back to the Mediterranean country.
