Next year's budget serves the most important goals of the government's economic policy.

The government's aim hasn't changed: the 2018 budget's most important element is to help the families and people who earn their living from work, the Minister of National Economy, Mihály Varga told the public radio. He added that the 4.2 growth of the first quarter of 2017 makes it possible for next year's budget to focus on tax cuts, wage hikes, support for innovation and investment and also the reduction of the national debt.
Next year, everybody can once again take one step ahead, and as a result Hungary will continue to grow stronger, Mihály Varga stated earlier. The 2018 Budget assumes economic growth of 4.3 percent, a state budget deficit of 2.4 percent and an inflation rate of 3 percent for the year, while the government debt-to-GDP ratio is predicted to continue to fall.
