Currently 1017 people are training to become ”border hunters”, the course started on Monday, and in the third group 147 people began their studies, according to the Hungarian police. The 532 people in the first course have already finished with a successful exam, join the professional ranks of the police, continue their studies and can start working after May. Eight-nine percent of the applicants have a degree. The so-called border hunters will help the police and the army at the Southern border of Hungary. Like officers, they will have to right to carry pistols with live ammunition, have pepper spray, batons and handcuffs.
