The Hungarian Ministry of Interior advises the government to tighten the migration rules in Hungary by reducing social benefits to asylum seekers and their stay at refugee centers.

According to a document released on the Hungarian government's website on Monday, the Ministry of Interior would tighten the migration rules in Hungary in order to ”effectively act against those who abuse the institution of asylum”. The most important plan is to reduce the social benefits asylum seekers receive to stop economic migrants from seeking asylum for solely financial reasons. According to another plan refugees could only stay one month – instead of two – in the centre after receiving asylum or protection.
