”Hungary showed the most solidarity towards Germany because no illegal migrant is arriving in Germany through our territory”, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó emphasised after meeting the Minister of Interior of Baden-Württenberg in Stuttgart. Szijjártó assured Reinhold Gall that Hungary respects all EU rules and protects its Southern borders.
The Minister also reacted to German Vice-Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel, who said at a debate programme on ARD that it wasn't the „invitation” that started the migration crisis, but Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán who said that ”I'm not taking in anyone”. Szijjártó said that Hungary always accepted those who are real refugees. ”Is someone a refugee who have left Turkey, Greece, Macedonia, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia and Austria to get to Germany?”, he asked. The Minister emphasised that if Europe had accepted Hungary's position on migration a year ago, we wouldn't be in this current situation.
The Minister also announced that two more companies of the German automotive industry are investing in Hungary for altogether HUF 10 billion.
