Central Hungarian city gets 25 billion forints for development

Modern Cities cooperation programme signed with Kecskemét, to help the city in central Hungary to develop its infrastructure.

Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced government support of 25 billion forints (EUR 80m) for the city of Kecskemét, in central Hungary, to set up an economic development fund. Orbán and Klaudia Pataki Szemerey, Kecskemet’s mayor, signed a cooperation agreement under Hungary’s Modern Cities development program.

Projects to be completed under the agreement include upgrading Kecskemet’s military airbase to provide civilian services, as well as developing the city’s electricity network, roads and railways.
